The "Beachy Vibes" Kitchen Remodel

This project was so much fun! Our client, a self proclaimed “Serial Remodeler” wanted a “Beachy Vibe”! She LOVES Hawaii and wanted create that “tropical, fresh feel” for her home in the Pacific Northwest. To achieve this we lightened the palette with light toned slab style cabinets, replaced the old counters with light and airy “White Fantasy” granite, tiled her backsplash with a stunning micro glass chevron tile, and contrasted those light tones with a dramatic black faucet, black cab pulls and black appliances (all except for stainless steel refrigerator and glass and stainless range hood). These all worked to create a sophisticated neutral back drop, where she can add pops of color and fun, with her vibrant and colorful accessories!

In keeping with her theme of loving all things Hawaii, she has amassed this impressive collection of Hawaii mugs. These colorful cuties all purchased through Good Will and other Thrift Stores, with no mug costing more than $1.

To update the look, we removed the oak cabinets, removed the ceiling soffit and brought the cabinetry all the way up to the ceiling. We did keep the existing oak floors which were pretty and in good condition, and run continuously throughout the home. It was a “nice” kitchen, but now it’s spectacular!

Finishing touches/accents include a cute “kitty” calendar, colorful dish towels, and fun mixing bowls in her key “beachy” colors of turquoise, tangerine and lime green. Not pictured is a super cute "sea foam green” Keurig maker. Now all is set for fun, cooking and relaxation - Coffee anyone?
